What Sabbatical at SAT Grads Say!

The SAT sabbatical provided me with enriching personal and spiritual opportunities and experiences that helped me to relax with God and minister to myself.  Joining together for daily liturgy bonded the group of participants who during the sabbath months shared respect, care and concerns with one another.

This part of my sabbatical SAT helped me to really disconnect from my past ministry and re-vision the rest of my life.  It has been a wonderful transition time and I leave with enormous gratitude for all I have been given.  For me it was always an inward journeyinterrupted in surprising ways but still a time of self-knowledge and seeing myself becoming more deeply aware of myself as in God and God in me and every moment as sacredall of life as holy.  Alleluia!

Kathleen Fagan, RSHM
Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary
New York, New York

The SAT sabbatical was a beautiful experience that touched the inner core of my being.  It's consistent, diverse, gentle positive, holistic approach provided an atmosphere of prayerful reflection, awakening in me a deeper trust in the Lord, as well as a greater respect for others and a profound self-reverence.

Victor Dunne, SPS
St. Patrick's Missionary Society
Hilton, South Africa

For me, the SAT sabbatical was a wonderful opportunity to rest, recoup energy and re-assess my life with a view to the future.  It was a perfect blend of solid input, leisure time and a wide variety of enrichment opportunities.  The locale and mix of men and women from many different cultures further enhanced the experience for me.

Tim Dwyer, SM

The SAT experience is a very welcome episode on life's journey.  The variety of presenters and formats affords ample opportunity to engage with the Lord and his promptings on different levels.  The SAT experience "is in the service of healing and wholeness for the willing participant."

Donal Sweeney, OP

My SAT experience was a gift from God at a time when my life was hungry for rest, reflection and renewal.  A special opportunity to take a few long steps forward in the dangerous but freeing journey of "Seeking After Truth."

John Friel
Diocese of Raphoe
Letterkenny, Ireland

At SAT I discovered that "sabbatical" is not inertia but getting in touch with and resting in the truth of God present in my inner self.  There, I experienced the challenge to old assumptions, the enabling of new eyes for seeing possibilities and an invitation that I be a woman of courage and of total trust in the God of truth and love.  SAT sabbatical has been truly renewing and refreshing.

Josephine Olagunju, SHCJ

It has been a time of renewing my love relationship with the Beloved.  I feel deep within that—my being proclaims God's goodness and love.

Beatrice Stuart, IBVM

It has been a year where I found myself again.  I've also found the joy and enthusiasm with had gone away from my life.  I've experienced God's love, freedom, compassion and liberation.  I feel renewed.
