What
is the SAT Sabbatical?
Sabbatical at SAT has pioneered a unique program which integrates
theological insight with the ordinary dimensions of human experience. We invite
leading presenters from the GTU Schools and other institutions in the area to come to SAT
and synthesize the best of contemporary thought in their fields of expertise. They
share their insights in modular units of learning which are presented to the entire SAT
group. This common learning experience increases the capacity of SAT participants to
explore and share on a deeper level.

Modular scheduling provides the possibility for greater exposure to a wide
variety of topics and issues. Moreover, it gives the program greater flexibility and
the ability to offer some events in response to the request of a specific group.
Sensitive to the maturity of SAT participants, presenters encourage participants to
integrate new material by responding to a reflection question applied to their own
experience.
We offer modules of eight to twenty hours in systematic theology and
scripture as well as diverse opportunities to enrich one's self-understanding and
spirituality. The curriculum for a typical year at SAT
offers a variety and exciting options for study.
